Q1. कवि किससे और क्या प्रार्थना कर रहा है ?

Q1. To whom is the poet praying?


A1. कवि करुणामाई ईश्वर से प्रार्थना कर रहा है कि उसे भले ही दुःख दर्द और कष्ट दे परंतु उन सब से लड़ने की शक्ति भी दे | चाहे दुख हो या खुशी वह ईश्वर को कभी ना भूले उसके मन में कभी इश्वर के प्रति संदेह ना हो इतनी शक्ति की मांग कवि कर रहा है |

A1. The poet is praying to compassionate God that even if the sorrow gives him pain and suffering, but to please give him the strength to fight them all. Whether it is sorrow or happiness, that he may never forget God, that he should not doubt about God in his mind, the poet is asking for so much strength.


Q2. "विपदाओं से मुझे बचाओ, यह मेरी प्रार्थना नहीं" - कवि इस पंक्ति के द्वारा क्या कहना चाहता है?

Q.2 What does the poet want to say through the line "Save me from calamities, this is not my prayer"?


A2. कवि इस पंक्ति में ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करता है कि मैं यह नहीं कहता कि मुझ पर कोई विपदा और दुख ना आए बस मैं यह चाहता हूँ कि मुझे उन विपदाओं और कष्टों को झेलने की शक्ति या ताकत देना |

A2. The poet prays to God in this line that I do not say that there should not be any calamity and sorrow on me, I but please give me strength to face those calamities and sufferings.


Q3. कवि सहायक के न मिलने पर क्या प्रार्थना करता है ?

Q3. What does the poet pray for when the helper is not available?


A3. कवि सहायक के ना मिलने पर प्रार्थना करता है कि उसके पुरुषार्थ में कोई कमी ना आए यदि संसार में उसे कोई हानि हो और कोई लाभ भी ना हो तो भी उसके मन की शक्ति का नाश नहीं होना चाहिए |


A3. The poet prays that the helper is not found, that there should not be any shortage in his effort, even if there is no loss and no gain in the world, even then the power of his mind should not be destroyed.


Q4. अंत में कवि क्या अनुनय करता है ? In the end, what does the poet plead?


अंत में कवि अनुनय करता है कि चाहे सब लोग उसे धोखा दें, उसके बाद उसके बुरा समय में कोई उसका साथ ना दे और सब दु:ख-दर्द उसे घेर ले फिर भी उसका विश्वास ईश्वर पर कभी कम नहीं होगा | ईश्वर के प्रति उसकी आस्था कभी कम नहीं होगी |


In the end, the poet pleads that even if everyone betrays him, after that no one supports him in his bad times and all the pain and sorrow surround him, yet his faith in God will not diminish. His faith in God will never diminish.


Q5. ‘आत्मत्राण' शीर्षक की सार्थकता कविता के संदर्भ में स्पष्ट कीजिए |

Q5. Explain the meaning of the title 'Atmatran' with reference to the poem.


A5. आत्मत्राण का अर्थ है आत्मा का त्राण अर्थात आत्मा या मन के भय का निवारण या भय की मुक्ति | कवि ईश्वर से यह प्रार्थना नहीं कर रहा है कि उसे दु:ख ना मिले बल्कि वह मिले हुए दु:खों को सहने और झेलने की शक्ति ईश्वर से मांग रहा है अतः यह शीर्षक पूर्णतया सार्थक है |


A5. 'Aatmatran' means the liberation of the soul, that is, the elimination of fear from the soul or mind, or the liberation from fear. The poet is not praying to God that he should not suffer, but he is asking God for the strength to bear and deal with the sorrows he has received, so this title is completely meaningful.
